The Kalimba originally comes from Africa. It is a centuries-old instrument, also known as ‘Mbira’ and ‘Sansa’ or simply ‘thumb piano’. There are metal reeds placed on a wooden box, which are plucked with the thumbs to produce a metallically fine sound.
