Complete with a reinforced walnut neck, and ebony fretboard, bridge, and pins, the Modern Black is a superb representation of the luthier’s art with non-traditional character.

Inspired by the player-favorite Grand Concert body shape, the Modern Concert body shape gives the Modern Black a comfortably compact feel without sacrificing sonic complexity. With richer, more robust tone than you’d expect from a smaller body, Modern Concert re-defines how a small-bodied guitar can sound.

Instead of a soundhole in the top, the innovative design of the Modern Black incorporates dual side-positioned sound ports. With the sound directed towards your ears, you’ll be able to hear every nuance of your technique, even when playing softly. Not only do these non-traditional soundholes make a bold visual statement, they allow the European spruce top to vibrate more naturally for richer acoustic tone.
